The rear of the card reads: 'Isabella and the Pot of Basil' was inspired by Keats' poem 'Isabella, or the Pot of Basil'. Isabella is depicted with her arms around a pot of basil, inside which is the severed head of her murdered lover, Lorenzo. She herself detached the head aſter finding Lorenzo's body, its location revealed to her in a dream.
